We recently picked up some really nice purpleheart lumber. We don’t normally stock exotic woods, but these pieces were too pretty to pass up. They’re a rich, vibrant, reddish burgundy color and have very nice grain. We have 3 boards that measure 8 to 10 ft long x 11 1/2″ wide and 2″ thick and 1 board that measures 8 ft long 7″ wide and 2″ thick. This wood is well seasoned and ready to make into something beautiful.

Purpleheart is also known as amaranth, violetwood, coracy, pauroxo, pauferro, koroboreli, saka, nazareno, morado, and tananeo. It’s a very heavy, hard, strong, and stiff wood with good decay resistance.

It glues easily and polishes well with no staining required.

If you’re interested in purchasing some of this purpleheart, we’re selling it for $12.00 bf. Contact Christina for more information.
